Last month Hazel Pfeifer, a lovely journalist from Ireland’s Image Interiors magazine came to Amsterdam and interviewed me.  We chatted over tea at Chocolaterie Pompadour, and then wandered to a couple of the little boutiques nearby that are featured in the book. The other week I received a copy of the magazine and was wrapped to see 2 whole pages dedicated to me and my little book! It’s a great article and it’s in this month’s (may/june) issue of Image Interiors, out now in Ireland. Above is a sneak peek of one of the pages from the article but as always, it’s much better to get your hands on the printed version so if you can, please do.

The book hasn’t even hit the shelves yet and it’s already been getting some fabulous press, including a wonderful mention on the travel page of the current issue of Vogue Living.

I love it! Dear Ebony speedily emailed me the above page upon my request last week so I could show you guys. Thank you Ebony, and thank you Vogue Living!

Today I’ve been planning the window displays that will be dotted around Amsterdam in June (I will give you details of their locations soon soon), organising various book launch events (I’m super excited about them!), and doing a spot of Spring gardening here on the boat. Next month is soooooo the month to be in Amsterdam, but I said that already, right?

So here it is, the official invitation to the official book launch of Amsterdam: Made by Hand.

What do you think? I know I said I’d post it yesterday but I spent all night working on it, as with all my endeavours, they always take longer to create than I initially planned! Anyway, I am so very excited about the event for so many reasons, it’s going to be grand. Other than the above mentioned treats on the day (personally signed copies, enjoying some wine, nibbling on homemade nibbles and listening to some lovely music), I will also be making a special window display for the American Book Center, so by the time the 5th of June comes around, this awesome bookstore will, well, be even more awesome!! If that’s possible.

I am going to reveal more details of the event in the weeks to come but for now I just wanted to officially invite you all. Below is a little snippet from the press release, please help spread the word…

I am excited to tell you that the book has already received some excellent press around the world, I will share these with you too! Mostly, I can’t wait for June to roll ’round so you guys can get your hands on them.

In a couple of days time I will be announcing the day, time and place of the Amsterdam: Made by Hand book launch! I’m so excited about it. Also, I have a few other great events in Amsterdam organised for the release of the book. I’ve noticed a few of you are already planning trips to Amsterdam this year, so I want to let those of you know who haven’t yet planned a trip but are thinking about it: June is the month to be in Amsterdam! It is packed full of Amsterdam: Made by Hand fun, and I will announce the dates of events (and window display locations!) in coming days.

Some of you have already noticed the little Amsterdam: Made by Hand pre-order button in the right side bar of the blog, but here is my official announcement that the book is now available for pre-order directly through the publisher, the Little Bookroom! The book will be released worldwide on June 1st, so those who pre-order will be the first ones to get their hands on the book, no matter where you are in the world.

I am sooooooo excited and I can’t wait to be able to share it with you. I have kept so many details about what is in the book top secret for this past year, and I’m bursting to reveal all.  But I will be patient and wait a little longer.
