Hmm, I just spotted the words ‘pea’ and sea’ – did you? I only just noticed! and they call me a stylist, pfff, sometimes I wonder as I seriously did NOT style those words, they styled themselves. And now they are my favourite words for the day: “I am a little pea, who lives by the sea…” (look, I’ve already told you my strength is not poetry.)

Coming Up Next Week: Soundscapes!! I can’t wait. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!

Anna from Absolutely Beautiful Things invited me to participate in her new blog series called ‘Absolutely Favourite Things’. I was rather inspired by her request for me to photograph a vignette of my latest faves, and ended up doing an entire photo shoot the other morning when it was so sunny. I decided to push the light and make the shots as polaroidy as possible, making it a little visual ode to some of my favourite polaroid photographers. This is what I created, what do you think?

To find out more about my favourite things du jour, go and check out Anna’s full post about them by clicking here. I had so much fun doing this, thank you Anna!

PS I took quite a few photographs actually and if I’m brave enough I might show you a few more.

here is one (snap) happy girl…

I had so much fun yesterday, wandering the streets of Amsterdam and finding so many great scapes to photograph. Above is one of my favourites from the day, but there is plenty for show & tell which I plan to separate into wanders for you, with my favourite eateries, boutiques and shopping streets of Amsterdam. Perhaps next week I can get to this, but for this week, I have a few other treats up my sleeve. So lets get to it!

xx

PS Josyln and her daughter Audrey continue to inspire me so: Check out Audrey’s fabulous Woodland Fairy Party, complete with woodland wings, woodland fairy crowns and fairy huts. And her list of things to learn before I turn 6 is remarkable. If only I’d thought of writing a list back then, perhaps if I had, I would be able to whistle and play checkers today.

PPS And Joanna from A Cup of Jo interviewed me recently on the topic of how to create a sexy + romantic bed for her fabo new sex and relationships blog called Smitten for Glamour Magazine. Click here to read my bed-making tips, thanks Joanna!

the 6th and final post for the day…

Some of you may be wondering (or more worried) right about now, that I have done nothing all day but blogged. But I’m here to tell you that is simply not true. I also did the washing up.

C’mon, what better way is there to recover from jet lag than to blog one’s little heart out? And although I have not left the boat in over 48 hours (yes I am now suffering from a wee bit of cabin fever, in case you did not already notice), I assure you that the above pic is proof that tonight I shall head out on the town. Yes that’s right, I’ve arrived back from Sydney just in time for Holly’s blogging get together right here in Amsterdam, ce soir, at De Kroon, Rembrandtplein 17, 8pm. Read more about the evening here and here, it looks to be a fun night. So if you are in Amsterdam, come along, I’d love to meet you!

…………………………

Fashion confession: I’ll be wearing the exact same outfit I wore to last Friday’s studio launch soirĂ©e (which I have yet to tell you about) in Sydney. And no one will ever be the wiser. Except I just told.

…………………………

If you do come along, I’m just warning you that pia + jetlag + cabin fever + champagne = anything can happen and probably will.

A collection of little moments

Well it’s official. After 24 hours of flying West, I’m home.

With mixed feelings.

It’s tough leaving someone you love for someone you love. And it’s tough to leave a home you adore for a home you adore. Will I ever get used to having my heart stretched across the globe?

Here is a collection of little moments from my time back home. I gathered these moments in my diary, and although I didn’t have time to post, I wrote down my post ideas and thoughts as they came to me. And this one is the start of many to come, I hope you enjoy…

littlethings.jpg

pjb_palmbeach9.jpg

waking up to the call of the kookaburras.

sitting, chatting and laughing on the porch with my cousin.

finding memories around every corner.

wearing a singlet on a winter’s day…

pjb_monavale1.jpg

spending many precious moments with this little one: my new goddaughter…

pjb_sahraa.jpg

drying my cream cashlama cardigan in the warm winter sun…

pjb_cardigan.jpg

doing my washing in a laundry room.

driving along pittwater road and seeing glimpses of ocean everywhere.

seeing the yellow wattle bloom and appear luminescent against the blue blue sky.

sun-drying my hair while sipping tea with manuka honey

pjb_sydney1.jpg

snacking on vita wheats with butter and vegemite.

seeing ocean behind and ocean in front…

pjb_oceaninmirror.jpg

seeing palm trees in the landscape.

radio hopping and finding acdc’s thunderstruck. turning it up LOUD.

laughing at Ed Kavalee. And wondering, what is it about his voice that I adore.

coming home with sand in my shoes…

pjb_sandinshoes.jpg

indulging in a hot bath nearly every evening while listening to the eucalypts sway in the night breeze…

and being reminded by each moment that australia truly is an amazing place.
