I’m noticing a distinct lack of My Heart Wanders entries from the male species. Come on boys, we know you too have wandering hearts, so lets see them! Do I at least have but a few boy readers? But a few?
this is actually a bit fun. it’s like i am graffitti-ing on my own post. sometimes i do wish it was possible to pick up a computerized pen and scribble all over my work on the screen. and if i could, i would scribble quotes, and doodle all over some of my less-inspiring material. but look at this gorgeous white cotton paper that i heard screaming out my name today, awaiting precious words…
…It’s from Cotton Idea Studio found via one of Erika’s recent guest blog posts on Design*Sponge.
okay, maybe I am prepared to let go of this post now. i said maybe. well, let’s see how i feel by morning.

second part of post:
update: I am heavily distracted today. I am suffering from l’angoisse de la page blanche. And worse still, I just realised that once I write a new post after this one, the My Heart Wanders: where it all began post will move to the second page, and I’m not sure I’m ready for that. I still find myself glancing over the images. And singing Jewel’s song outloud as I work.
So can’t I just keep updating this post instead of writing a new one? Will the blog police come after me?
Whatever. Here’s what’s on my mind: these cinnamon coated marshmallows that I just spotted over at Swiss Miss…
I suggest we build a little fire by the sea side tonight and make some smores with them. What say you?

back to the original post:
Today’s special My Heart Wanders sneak peek is from fashion designer Riley Salyards, a subtle heart made with the help of her baby boy. A newbie fellow Amsterdammer like myself, Riley is the co-founder of this fabulous label in North America. Go ahead, click away, you know you want to! Have a look at the collections as I know you will find some serious inspiration there like I have. Um, Riley, any chance I can have a little fitting sometime?!
And check out the curtain…
It was her grandmothers, isn’t it stunning. So this is it, only six apples left now…
click here to submit. click here to get a sneak peek of other submissions. and click here to read more about the book.
okay, how was that for a rhyme? pathetic, i know, obviously i am not destined to be a poet in this life.
so now there is officially one week left to hand over your hard work. this cutie reminds me of high-school love, sent in by diana…
go visit her super cool etsy store too.
There is only one week left to deadline! so this week is going to be completely dedicated to the My Heart Wanders countdown. I will include one random submission on each post so you can have a little sneak peek at what has been coming in. But I want to leave surprises for the final book, so you will only get to see a snippet of the entries in the lead up to the final selection. Starting today with this beauty, do you recognise her?
Yes it’s dear Alyson, making a garland of wandering hearts. beautiful.
Normal posting will resume next monday after the deadline, and i have been saving up some killer posts including a few exclusive home tours, some awesome etsy favourites, a new summer-inspired menu in the kitchen, and you know what, isn’t it time we all had a holiday on a tropical island? well next monday we will – I am going to take you with me to my favourite island that I’ve been having to keep secret from you for too long. We will stay in a spa resort, and we will be sipping caiparinhas poolside. Whose going to join me?
But, before we head off to this island hideaway, let’s cracking this week, we have just 7 days to be a part of something that is destined to blow the socks off us all.
PS. one more chalkboard countdown will be posted this afternoon to mark the 7th day to deadline. see you then!
PPS. and we need a song for the week, to get us in the groove, so THIS is it. If this song does not get your feet tapping and your heart singing, I don’t know what will! Here it is again in a cool original live version from the 70’s. Sly, baby, you rock.
