book cover of Amsterdam: Made by Hand, handmade and photographed by me.
Some of you have already noticed the little Amsterdam: Made by Hand pre-order button in the right side bar of the blog, but here is my official announcement that the book is now available for pre-order directly through the publisher, the Little Bookroom! The book will be released worldwide on June 1st, so those who pre-order will be the first ones to get their hands on the book, no matter where you are in the world.
I am sooooooo excited and I can’t wait to be able to share it with you. I have kept so many details about what is in the book top secret for this past year, and I’m bursting to reveal all.ย But I will be patient and wait a little longer. I can tell you though that there are ten wanders in this book, and if you’d like a sneak peek of a few of the pages , you can see them by clicking here.ย Hmmm ok, here is just one of the spreads from a boutique featured…
I hope you like. To see bigger versions and read the text, click here.
In May I will start to tell you more about the book but for now, just this little bit of info. There will also be some super cool events happening for the book launch in June, I will tell you about them in the time to come.
Oh I’m excited! But I already said that.
xx
Yay!

Congratulations Pia! I pop in here regularly and have come to know how hard you’ve been working on this ‘secret’ project! The sneak peak looks promising.
I’m a book designer and I can appreciate how exciting it is for an author when all their hard work comes together in a beautifully finished piece. Must have been such a pleasure for the lucky designer!
Congrats again from Sydney, Aus ๐

THANK YOU!!!
I’m so glad you guys are as excited about this as me. I really cannot wait to get it out there.
………………………….
To answer Ann’s shipping question (and for anyone else interested in the topic):
Yes that is the correct overseas shipping price, and $5.50 per extra additional book. It’s comparable to other online booksellers but if price is a concern, do shop around – the book is also available on Amazon Germany, Amazon France, and Amazon UK for those living in Europe.
………………………….
And I can’t quite find the comment but I think someone asked me if it will be available in Australia – the answer is YES!! Just like Paris: Made by Hand, Amsterdam: Made by Hand will be in stores all over the world.
Thanks again guys, your comments have all made my day!!
xx

What a beautiful book! I don’t know if you know it, but my favorite
place is Saint Martin in Amsterdam. A small restaurant on Prinsengracht. So cute!
Since I told mine, I can’t wait to see yours.

Fantastisch! Gefeliciteerd Pia – I waited for this: Living in Munich for over ten years, I’m not sรณ often in Amsterdam, that I can keep up with all the new shops, boutiques and ateliers. I always have to squeeze all shopping/looking/inspirational strolls into 1 to 2 days. This will help tremendously ;))
March 5th, 2010 | #
I will be in Amsterdam this June and so this is perfect timing! Hurrah!
March 5th, 2010 | #
Very cool book again… can’t wait to read it.

Miss Pia,
I am traveling to Amsterdam for the second time in ten years to study/collaborate with the EmioGreco|PC Dance company. I’ll be in the city for the first two weeks in June. I came upon your lovely book here in Seattle and can’t wait to do some exploring when I visit. I am an artist and designer myself and deeply appreciate the handmade worlds. So thank you for that. Since you clearly understand the inside of Amsterdam, I also write to inquire whether you might know of an inexpensive room to rent/trade for work for the two weeks I will be there. Please feel free to contact me! Best, Etta Marie Lilienthal
