Did you know that anthropologie in London (Kings Road)have a beautiful gallery space? And did you know that my friend Leslie – who is responsible for sending me that fabulous bag featured in my last post – has an exhibition of her wares in there right now? It’s times like these that I wish I could wiggle my nose and pop up just in front of that window, spending the afternoon wondering through the gallery, being inspired all the while…

I’ve known about the gallery exhibition for some time now as Leslie has been working on creating pieces for it for the last 6 months. And I’ve also been lucky enough to see all these pieces during the making of, so seeing these photos of the space all set up is super special…

If you are in London, I do hope you can find some time to go and visit the gallery to see all the amazing things made by swarm. The exhibition will be up until May 10th. In the meantime, you can also visit the anthroplogie online gallery which features more individual swarm pieces, with information and images on each creation.

Kylie Johnson is a poet, ceramicist, and one of my dearest friends. Last year while I was writing my little heart out in le petit bateau vert in Amsterdam, she sent me parcels throughout the year filled with treasures to keep me going, the sweetest gifts, and emails with quotes that would always resonate with me. She seemed to know exactly what I was going through, and knew when I needed a bit of encouragement, even from the other side of the world. You may recall I wrote a post about her beautiful studio  – paper boat press –  and home here…

Well, I’m delighted to announce that in celebration of the release of My Heart Wanders, dear Kylie is hosting an exclusive event in Brisbane on May 7th. Together we’ve been working out the finer details over the last couple of months, and I can tell you, it’s going to be grand, I am so excited about it… imagine an afternoon spent on the grounds of one of the quaintest locations in Brisbane, surrounded by local made by hand goodness while we sip tea, eat petits sandwiches & butterfly cakes, all the while chatting about taking risks, letting go, and making a home wherever you are…

Tickets are $15 each, but if you buy the book (which is $59.95) and ticket combo,  it will be a neat $65. You can also order more signed copies of the book to pick up on the day if you want to buy some for friends and family.  All tickets and books must be purchased online through Kylie’s shop here. There will be a limited amount of tickets available, so please order asap as tickets have already been selling fast.

I cannot wait to meet you all in Brisbane – so many of you have been such wonderful inspiration to me over the past few years, and it will be an incredible experience to be able to meet you in person and get to know you that little bit more. This is it, mes amis, this. is. it! the books have arrived, they’re big and beautiful and as you can imagine, I’m incredibly excited to finally be able to reveal the details of the celebratory book launch here in Sydney…

There will be bubbles, there will be books, the ever-lovely Victoria Carey, editor of Country Style Magazine will be speaking on the night, and there may even be room for a little live music too. Oh, I cannot wait, I do hope you can come along.

We moved into our new home here in Sydney four days ago. We don’t have internet. We don’t have a bed. We are camping in our living room. It’s been a hectic few weeks trying to get sorted, and it will be a hectic few more weeks trying to get settled. All the while I’ve been unpacking boxes, and in one of them I found this jar of sparkles. Yes, once upon a time, I kept sparkles in a jar. Today, this jar of sparkles sits on the mantle piece, surrounded by chaos, reminding me that there is magic in the most unlikely of places.
