I am loving the work of san fran artist & illustrator mati rose mcdonough. She has a nicely stocked up shop called the suspect shoppe, filled with her wonderful works. I love the one above, and I had a feeling a number of us need to be reminded of this quote from dancer Martha Graham, to help each of us stay on our creative tracks. Here are a few more of mati’s fab paintings…

Then there are these fine wire, handwoven pomegranates from Yoola that I just can’t keep my eyes off…

yoolas.jpg

As Yoola mentions, according to many ancient cultures the pomegranate symbolizes abundance, fertility and good luck. I like that. Alot.

reiter8.jpg

And last but not least, is this collection of cushions from etsy seller Reiter8, made from recycled boat sails – how inventive! I could see these in a lovely beach house (hmm, something like Anna’s awesome island cottage perhaps?).

So that’s a wrap! thanks for stopping by this week for…

makool3.jpg

How gorgeous is this dupioni silk dress? It’s poetic, its romantic, and it’s something I would most likely never wear unless someone was throwing a Tess of the D’Urbervilles party of sorts. (which, by the way I am hooked on right now. Hooked. )

makool2.jpg

The dress is from the very cool Makool. I must also add that the photography is sensational don’t you agree? Check out the etsy boutique here, and the Makool blog here.

tinybooks.jpg

Be Happy Now’s tiny books are a bit of finger-tingling gorgeousness too. And guess what? This next image will give you a clue…

rainydayart.jpg

This beautiful artwork from Jose Lampreia is appropriately titled rainy days. Yep, it’s raining in Amsterdam. Aren’t we all surprised. Not. Meanwhile, I’m told it’s sunny and 30C in Sydney right now. Pfff. I shouldn’t be too green as just as I wrote that, I looked out the window to see a horse and carriage clopping along my street. In Amsterdam, anything and everything goes – I probably could get away with wearing that dress after all.

I love this giclee print from Ottowa’s Monkey Powered. It’s just what we need to get out of this universal funk we are in at present. This bit of news also does the trick for me…

studiokurashi2.jpg

Studio Kurashi is open for business! For those loyal readers that I’ve had from the early days, do you remember when I posted about these delicious baked goodies made by Momo from Kurashi? (Here is the link to the post to jog your memory.) Well not only is Momo a terrific vegan cook, she is also a rather talented seamstress and I’ve been adoring all the beautiful clothes she makes for her son Oliver for the longest time. Now, she has her own little etsy boutique called Studio Kurashi, so do go and check it out -her little boys + girls 100% cotton japanese print pants are divine. Happy shop opening Momo!

studiokurashi1.jpg

This little grey days pinafore from humblebea is a little ray of sunshine too (the fab photography is by Amanda Westhart)….

And I just spotted these prints by artist Jenny Keith Hughes. Jenny is based in Edmonton (what can I say, I’m drawn to y’all crazy Canadians)…

untitled-1.jpg

Have you missed our etsy hit here in the (blog)house over the past few weeks? I know I have. Here are a few of my favourites that I’ve been ogling lately…

pjb_earrings.jpg

First up is Argentinian jewelry designer Gaby of india y la luna. I recently purchased her loop earrings as featured above, and they are beautifully made. I’d been wanting to buy loop earrings for ages having lost the ones I bought in Hong Kong some years back. But you know me, I couldn’t ‘cheat’ and go to H&M or the likes, I had to find something handmade, one-of-a-kind, and special. And Gaby’s loops fit the bill. I am now thinking of getting the extra large loops too, I mean you can’t ever have enough loops, right?

il_430xn32253015.jpg

These little diaper pants have been sitting among my favourites for a while now. They are from etsy seller Rae Gun, I think they would have to be the most adorable little things ever. Check out all the other prints available here.

nina1.jpg

I’m always on the look out for cool, locally made ceramics to use as props in shoots, and Nina’s organic bowls are perfect! Nina was at the meet & greet on Friday night but we did not get a chance to chat, but now that I know of her I will definitely keep her wonderful designs in mind. Her handmade screen print ceramic ‘drop’ series is lovely, check out the rest of her collection here.

baileysdoesntbark.jpg

Bailey Doesn’t Bark is another great etsy boutique full of hand painted ceramic ware. Based across the seas in New York, designer Re Jin Lee used to be a clothing designer and stylist and hand paints all her illustrations on porcelain plates, bowls, cups and saucers. Love’em.

royalbuffet.jpg

And yeah, I know you know that I love Royal Buffet’s butterfly mobiles. I just can’t get enough of them and every time I see mine fluttering in the breeze it brings a smile to my face.

So I hope this little post of goodies satisfies your etsy cravings as it has mine. À bientot! Tot ziens! And thanks for stopping by for this week’s installment of…
