For those of you who are new to my (blog)house, the guest quarters is a place where I invite friends to come and stay. While I strive to give them the most relaxing, enjoyable stay possible, we here in the (blog)house get a glimpse into their inspirational lives. It’s a place where they can post whatever they like – be it their own personal work, travel journal, craft ideas, or daily inspirations.

So who is my mystery guest this time?

Well, let me tell you a little bit about her. She is a very dear friend, a fellow aussie expat living in Amsterdam, knows all sorts of things about flora, and is an avid traveler. She writes a personal blog which I have had the pleasure and opportunity to read since meeting her some months ago. Her writing and photographs are captivating, and I was delighted when she said yes to coming to stay here in the guest quarters.

It’s monday! And I’m already weary. But that would have something to do with the crazy week I just had, and the even crazier one I have ahead. Oh, and also the (but not the) flu I’ve been pretending I don’t have.

While I’m busy working on some ridiculously exciting things at the moment, there are also some ridiculously exciting things to come here in the (blog)house this week… including the arrival of our next guest!! Who will be here any minute. Oh, I’m excited.

Meanwhile, let’s draw water circles while we wait…

Today is the last day for dear Riley here in the (blog)house guest quarters. Please click here to read Riley’s very last post which she posted just a moment ago. I am sad to bid my dear friend farewell from the (blog)house. As she packs her (blog)cases, and steps out onto the veranda, I am teary eyed but with full heart, remembering all her beautiful posts that she has created, especially for us. Above and below I’ve created little collections of some of my favourite photos from Riley’s posts here in the (blog)house…

Riley makes so many gorgeous things – being a fashion and textile designer, she has a wonderful eye for detail. Every time I visit her house she has created something new – be it a beautiful ceramic bowl, or piece of fabric, or a simple vignette on a window sill that takes my breath away. I am so glad she came to visit us here and share so much.

But before we all get too teary eyed to see her go, I have some very, very exciting news to share with you (insert drum roll please)…

…today, being Wednesday, July 8, it is with absolute pleasure I be the first to announce that Riley just started her VERY. OWN. BLOG!

I can’t tell you how happy I am that Riley has taken the plunge. She inspires me daily, and I am wrapped that each of you will now get a peek into her beautiful world for the days and weeks and months to come. So, before you hurry over there, please, read her very last post right here in the guest quarters (leave a little comment to brighten her day), then click on the link to her blog ‘roe’ from there. She has LOTS installed for you. So lets all make her first post into the blogging world a special one, give her a big big warm welcome so that she is full of enthusiasm for her upcoming posts (which I’ve had a sneak peek already, which you are going to love!)

In recent months I have received many many emails, every day. I’m so grateful for every single one of them. I love hearing from happy readers and adorers of my first book. I can’t tell you how awesome it is to wake up every morning and read such incredible compliments.

Today, I would just like to take this moment to let you know that I am unable to keep up with replies, and I’ve been holding off on stating this in a post because I was thinking at some point soon things would slow down and I’d be able to reply to each and every one of you like I used to be able to do. Things aren’t slowing down. So, i just wanted to let you know that if you have written me an email in the past few months – or more recently in the past few days – and you are waiting for a reply, please know that I’m not able to answer all my emails at this stage, and I want you to know that it is nothing personal at all, it’s just that I am extraordinarily busy with my work at the moment.

One of the questions that comes up alot in emails is how to become a stylist.
