If I were a kitchen, I would be this:

It’s called The Farm Project, designed by Mike Meiré. With concept phrases like “…‘orchestrated chaos’ bringing beauty to mundane objects within the context of a nourishing environment…” and “…embrace the richness of life that minimalism had taken away…”, I’m a hooked fish.

Would you come visit me if I were this kitchen?

It’s an interesting concept that was photographed last year for Wallpaper magazine, worth more of a look-see – you can follow my path of discovery by reading about it on the fabuloso Inhabitat, watching it here and seeing more photos here.

i like.

Selection of images from the body of work by Brisbane based artist and photographer Joachim Froese. The collection is titled Rhopography – the word rhopos referring to ‘the trivial or mundane of daily life’. Although this exhibition of work is nearly a decade old, I have fallen completely in love with his art and will certainly be featuring more of it here in the days to come. Find out more about this body of work here. Joachim is represented by Jan Manton, please visit her incredible gallery here.

PS: I’m back in the blogosphere! I have been a busy bee with shoots, and have lots to tell. Posts about where I’ve been and what I have been inspired by have been forming in my head over the past few days that I can’t wait to share. I have to stay in le petit bateau all day today, awaiting a number of courier arrivals so in between catching up on housework and trying to relax a little, I will be stopping by here regularly. Expect a few posts today my dear, patient readers! xx

with a little help from my friends…

I have been holding a basket full of thank you’s for a month or more and it is now overflowing – it’s time to dish out.

I have only just learnt that my dashboard on wordpress actually tells me when another blog has mentioned me in one of their posts. wow! technology! It never ceases to amaze me. There have been many of you mentioning me lately and I can’t tell you how wonderful this makes me feel to hear that I inspire you. So to each of you first, I say…

pjb_thank-you.jpg

I treasure my blogroll and I keep each of you there in sight to share with everyone as well as so I can come visit anytime I like for an inspiration hit. So to my new readers, please visit my blogroll regularly, each blog in there is special to me. I always strive to add to the blogroll when I am able to visit the blogs from new commenters, so it is worth checking my blogroll regularly, even if I haven’t had a chance to post about new blogs and new friends, no doubt there will always be someone new there to inspire you too.

Here are a few new friends I’ve made lately…

Loobylu. What a champ is the loobylu creator, Claire – she added me to her June links and wow, I received a whole heap of new readers thanks to her! So hi loobylu readers, thank you for stopping by! I do hope you like it here.

Check out Claire’s etsy shop, it’s packed with great things, she is one incredibly creative gal! Thanks Claire, you rock. Hope you are having a fabulous time in Canada.

The Shutter Sisters: An incredible and inspiring photo blog, please go and have a look, it is fabulous.

Thank you girls for mentioning my blog and the My Heart Wanders project on your blog.

………………………………………………………

Stylist Kim Gray from South Africa.

It is so rare to make friends with fellow stylists – just like in the movie Devil Wears Prada, this is not the most nurturing industry to be in. But I am lucky to have a few great stylist friends who are genuine, kind, and beautiful, scattered around the world – and Kim is now one of them. She has a great blog full of the things that inspire her, and it is choc full of her latest work. So go and check out her blog and say hi from me. Thanks Kim!

………………………………………………………

All Things Bright and Beautiful and Liberty Post, thank you for your beautiful words recently. Both your posts were so touching.

………………………………………………………

A Cup of Jo. Who not only inspires us everyday with her great finds and introduces us to her fabulous family, but has also included me a couple of times in her blog post round ups! It seems Joanna has fallen in love with le petit bateau, and also loves the soundscapes. Thanks for sharing my posts with your readers Joanna! xx

And last but not least, is Sherrie from Frenchy Finds. Sherrie makes the most divine soap – she has an esty boutique called Birch Bark Soaps, and she recently featured me amongst her favourite blogs when she was an etsy featured seller. Not only that ,she sent me some soaps to try out and now I am hooked! I have just finished using the peppermint poppyseed soap and it is simply divine. Go and stock up your soaps at Birch Bark, i promise you will not be disappointed! Thanks Sherrie.

Thanks everyone. For your comments. Your encouragment. and your friendship.

I have to get going to gather some props and check on a set, but I’ll be back very soon. à bientot xx

While last Friday I was smacked to the ground by a taxi, this Friday my hands have been drawn by the sensational Esti! What a wonderful day it is!! Yes these are my hands, enhanced and decorated by Esti. I am in awe of her drawings, and I feel pretty special that she has interpreted my hands in this way – look at the swimming fish in the detail. Wow.

I must admit, I was pretty reluctant to send an outline of my hands as when I drew them, I felt like I was giving away a piece of my soul. I am super conscious of my hands, for so many reasons. One being that my fingers are quite long and even though my mother always said how wonderful that was, I always felt like a bit of a freak. But even if I did give a piece of my soul away to Esti, she just gave it right back to me, and that piece is more beautiful and unique now than it ever was.

Click here to read and view Esti’s full post.

Thank you Esti, you have totally made my day.

Well folks, I am about to jump on my bike again for the first time since I had the accident. I am pretty scared, to be truthful. I didn’t think it had affected me so much but apparently it has. But today there is no more procrastinating as I have so much work to do, I’ve sort of piled it all up into one day, the last day of the week, and now I have to race around and pick up samples and props for next weeks shoots. i feel like a bit of a baby, being so reluctant to get on the bike. But here goes nothin’. Wish me luck out there!!
