Once upon a time, but not so long ago, Monday was my ‘washing day’. I’d do a week’s worth of washing in one day, about three loads (whites, colours, dark) – maybe with an extra load for woolens every now and then.
These days, every day is washing day, with more loads than I can count. Sometimes I might skip a day if I’m out and about. That’s never a good thing for the days that follow.
Having baby clothes amongst the laundry is delightful though, there is no denying it.
xx
yes that sounds very familiar, my washing day was also a Monday and now not so.
very true about enjoying the ‘little’ clothes, it makes me smile when i hang them to dry as each piece has a cheeky or sweet memory attached to it.

Life certainly changes when there is a little one on the scene doesn’t it Pia! I sometime wonder how on earth they managed in the “old” days before washing machines.

This is the prettiest laundry picture. I’m in the habit of putting on a load every morning before the kids are off to school, you’re right, it’s often not a good idea to skip a day it certainly builds up quick!

yes indeed, little person washing is ritualistic; somehow soothing & rhythmical (even though its never ending!)

I agree, there is something particularly beautiful about washing tiny clothes- pegging these miniature constructions onto the washing line is especially touching.

Yes, doesn’t seem so long ago that I was washing everyday…how I loved to see the washing line full of nappies and little clothes. Now my boys are 16 and 18, and do their own washing, and I wash once a week!
