One of my favourite flowers. At one of my favourite gardens here, there’s a row of magnolia trees which, when in full bloom, look like they’re covered in snow from afar, especially when the blooms start dropping and cover the ground! BTW, Pia, I bought your book from Small Acorns in Wellington and was touched by it. I hope one day to be as brave as you were!

Hi Pia, I am so happy to see your emails. I can always find something to inspire me.
I love the magnolia blossoms. A few years ago I lost seven huge oaks in my front yard due to four hurricanes which hit us. So I planted a magnolia tree which did not bloom until I tied fake blossoms to it’s branches. Then suddenly the tree gifted me with it’s own lovely blooms. I think the tree has a spirit!

How lovely…they are! My husband went out with his electric saw and was madly pruning the bushes etc until I noticed….he’d chopped our lovely Magnolia tree without realising!
    It’s slowly slowly recovering, thankfully.
