Why are birds so fasinating? Their ability to fly (most of them, anyway) seems part of it, but not entirely. That they seem to chat or sing to each other? That they seize their world with such whole heartedness?
It is grey & wet here today, and the rainbow lorrikeets don’t care.
Do you pinch yourself occassionally .. for the wonderful and creative life you have? How sublime to not only witness nature all around you (right up to your front door) but to be living in a boat on the water in Amsterdam. Go girl!
Pia, while I love all of the things you post, I think I love it when you post photos of your home and canal the most. You represent your surrounding so nicely in your images. Oh, and when you play the piano for us. Love that 🙂
gorgeous! i will never forget sitting under a tree at a pond in voldelpark at dusk and all of the sudden a whole flock of birds came from the pond and were surrounding us. then, as quickly as they appeared, they were gone. it was surreal.
These photo’s just seem perfect.

We just returned from Europe and spent quite a few days in Amsterdam…we stayed at The Dylan which is amazing. I fell in love with that city!

I love how the first shots have a black and white feel…except for the bright bills! Gorgeous shots and gorgeous subject!
As always, thank you so much for sharing, dear Pia!
