Today is the day that Amsterdam: Made by Hand is officially on sale around the world – hooray! To celebrate it’s arrival, I will be assembling the window display this afternoon at the American Book Center. Yesterday and late into the evening I was busy with all the finishing touches a.k.a “the 20% that takes 80% of the overall time”. It’s tedious but also a lot of fun. I was able to use lots of left over scraps of paper and ribbon…
…so my next post will be the finished display, wish me luck!
It looks beautiful – love the colours 🙂

Each day a treat to visit…a glimpse into a magical world. You are quite the star and I just know your beautifully vibrant window display will shine.
I can hardly wait to amble the lanes of Amsterdam through your precious little book. It will certainly become an inspirational treasure like the last gorgeous creative ‘wanderings’ through Paris.
So tomorrow I shall return, only to wish I could peer through the window in person…

Hi Pia,
I saw the window display in real life today. And wow I loved it 🙂 How you can see bits and pieces of the book behind the windows of the canal houses, the happy bunting all across the shop window, and off course the flower painting on the window.
Off course I bought the book 🙂 And your words make me feel very proud at my city. And thanks for the addresses I didn’t yet know of. I find the pictures stunning again, like they also were in Paris made by hand. This book makes a perfect gift for my crafty blog friends.
Unfortunately I can’t make it Saturday to the bookshop, to get my purchase signed by you. But maybe, one day, I will just run into you in a cosy cafe or something, and then I can ask for your autograph 🙂
xx Petra
