…to bid this landscape goodbye. While I write, the kookaburras are singing their last song for the day.
I will miss this country. again.
Next week I will be writing my posts from mon petit bateau in amsterdam. I have lots of posts to share with you that I haven’t had a chance to compose while here, so even though I’m leaving sydney, we haven’t seen the last of this landscape and its creative souls in the (blog)house just yet. Next week is going to be alot of fun. Until then, mes amis, enjoy the rest of your weekend.
xx
PS it has not stopped raining here in sydney all day. I had hope to enjoy one last swim in the ocean, one last walk through the bush, and blow one last kiss to the sun but alas, it’s not meant to be. The above photo is something ( I call it an ‘interpretation of the landscape’) I composed from a collection of botanical findings from my walks over the last 2 months. I will pin this photo up on my wall when I get back to amsterdam to remind me of the nature I so love. À bientôt australia! tot ziens!
it is amazing, it literally has been raining all day! shame you missed your swim but have a great trip back and we look forward to all of the new posts next week. love the pic of your botanical collection…makes me want to look a bit harder next time i go for a walk! thanks for helping us see the beautiful in the everyday!

Go well and safely Pia. I am sorry about the rain – even those staying haven’t found it that much fun. The irony will be if you get home and it’s sunny.

Pia, I had the exact same thoughts as you. I live not too far from a major botanical extravaganza. While we were there I started picking up bits growing on bushes and trees. Everything is so crispy, twisty and twirly, it is so beautiful don’t you think? I still haven’t got round to photograph mine, although I saw one of my kids pick up one of the sprigs this morning and examine it so it, might not have been picked in earnest!
Btw my copy of Dumbo feather made its way to me. What a wonderful magazine, to be included in. I thought your interview was truly inspiring, and very honest. Your blog is extremely popular because you have inspiring thoughts and are clearly very talented, you have an amazing command of words, and you are living the dream, many people aspire to. To me you come across as a wonderful person. Congratulations, you deserve every success.
