it was fleeting. so fleeting in fact, that i only had a chance to capture it through the window late this afternoon and not on the street like i had hoped. but beautiful none the less. oh sun i miss you! sigh.
there is always tomorrow…

i was hoping to get out to try my new lense today, with further hope to share with you some nice spring pics of amsterdam. but the dull dreary weather has been totally uninspiring. today there was not even a glimpse that perhaps a sun does exist as a light source. so i’ve been continuing with chores and errands, ticking things off the list, and looking out the window hoping to have an excuse to dash out and take some photos. but alas, it did not happen. instead, this is all i was able to capture – the top of the rijks museum from my kitchen window. have a look at that sky!
but if you can, imagine this tower chiming away at sunset, to a tune similar to this. enjoy. and let’s all wish for some sun this weekend!!
UPDATE: having listened to the above bells this morning i have realised the rijks museum bells sound NOTHING like it! the bells of the rijks museum actually sound more like this, even though these are from the zuiderkerk. and if you are wondering, the sky is still the same grey as in the photograph. oh woe.
I won’t (boohoo!). But if I were in Paris this weekend I would be going straight here for this very exclusive, and very delicious event that combines our two favourite things in life: design and food…
ensemble à thé designed by Anne Xiradakis
Café éphémère is a rather special exhibition. Curated by designer Anne Xiradakis, it is an experimental space that moves around the world, and this time it is to be hosted in the apartment of French artist Guillaume Hillairet. You are invited to sit and dine at the guest table where Anne has created a tantalizing petit menu, all served within beautiful ceramic ware that she has designed specifically for the occassion. All her pieces are available for purchase during the event.
It is open today (Friday April 4), Saturday April 5, and Sunday April 6 from 2pm to 8pm. It costs only 5€ and you can call Anne on 06 63 06 83 11 to find out more and to make a reservation. Check out more about Café éphémère here at Anne’s blog (its all in French but you get the gist).
I am already salivating at the thought of how cool this is. Aren’t you curious as to what is on this petit menu? Well I have featured the Café éphémère Paris menu in the (blog)house kitchen as menu quatre. Click here to check it out!
Next up: we are heading into the kitchen! could you tell from the above photos? you know i like to lead into things (perhaps i’m not such a scatterbrain after all!)
PS oh i just saw the wandering heart in the first image!
