the water looks like glass this morning, i just had to show you.
oh and i nearly forgot, a song! I’ve been meaning to post about this song of Emiliana Torrini’s – click on this link, and come back to view the image above – it is very much the feeling of being on the boat (French Boy thinks I sing like Emiliana – yes please!! Although his compliments still haven’t convinced me to sing). And the sound you hear of the ropes throughout the song is just like the sounds I hear while in here on the boat – when it is a little windy the ropes make those sounds.
nice song..
it must be magical to hear those sounds outside!

Lovely song! My favourite song by Emiliana is “Sunny Road” + I love the video as well. So dreamy… ๐

reflections in the water…love this.

I forgot to say, we had an artist at the museum last winter who’s work on video was about water reflections….so peaceful!

i love the crackling sounds and her delicate voice. she’s new to me, so thank you.

gee thanks, nice new dรฉcouvert. oh what fun, you and your beau should do a little album…
i have been listening to biolay’s album that he did with his ex-wife (http://www.lepop.de/cms/?lpduo-home) en boucle…at first i thought her voice was a tad weak…but now…i am absolutely sold on, couple recordings. ๐

those white reflections remind me of when I was learning to swim at the YMCA and the instructor tossed rings to the bottom of the pool. I had to try to swim down and get them, but I didn’t want to open my eyes underwater, and I couldn’t propel myself downward. I think I stopped lessons shorter after that.

lovely- I love your music selection, do I see a heart?
June 24th, 2008 | #
nadia, i too see the heart – seems they are everywhere! i almost can’t take a photo without capturing one it seems – did you notice the photo of the fallen petals on the bridge from the wreath?
rachel, poor rachel, i used to feel the same way about opening my eyes under water! although when i finally plucked up the courage (about 10 years later than my peers)- wow. it was the best feeling, like seeing the world through a whole new lense. your story made me laugh, you are so funny.
nancy – hmm, we might just do that!! i will check out your link, thanks for sharing!!
cindy k – emiliana is wonderful – as sia mentioned, ‘sunny road’ is awesome and is also my favourite, i often sing it.
i agree sia!
yes the pulling ropes sound is pretty cool marie – and the splashing water near the window – i should do a little recording so you can all hear the boat sounds.
xx

Oh that song sounds exactly like the ocean. It reminds me of spending the summers at my Nan’s cabin on the beach. What a wonderful sound to be surrounded by.

hah! we’re on the same wave length today – i was writing up a (somewhat) related post. emiliana, such sweetness and purity. i adore her. mayhap, you will have to record a teeny tiny song for us with some water lapping percussion? don’t be shy, you can just hum ๐
pia, so sorry to read about your bike accident. oh, dear… but it appears you are on the mend. hopefully, you’ll be right as rain soon enough. take GOOD care of yourself!

Oh, it is a lovely photograph! I love the mix of shapes and colours – if I wasn’t told it was a photo I would have thought it was an abstract painting …
(PS Inspired by your evolving wreath post, I took a picture of a seaweed wreath I made some time ago and posted on my blog. But mine is not evolving – unless I add little bits of found beach stuff!)
