here is the second series from the delightfully sunny sunday i spent wandering the streets of amsterdam. i have loved reading your comments in part one, and i think you should all come and visit amsterdam again and again, it truly is a beautiful city! perhaps the following photos will help convince you to pack your bags (oh and it is queens day here soon, i hear it is quite spectacular, i am looking forward to it!)
the soundtrack for this post is right here. just click on this link which will open the song in a new window and then come back to scroll through the photos. enjoy…
i took alot of photos. that’s how excited i was to be out in the sunshine. i probably took enough photos for a ten part series. but i shall not do that to you! these are just little snippets. the song is by peter bjorn and john, thank you boys.
let me know if you would like the names or streets from any of the above and below images, i’d be happy to share with you my favourite amsterdam wanders. and i’ve saved my favourite photo for last, now this is the life…
Pia, these are so lovely and certainly do make me want to pack my bags and hop over the channel. I was there at about this time last year and had the best time. Maybe it IS time for another visit? x

I want, I NEED to come visit amsterdam again. What fabulous, tantalizing photographs!
My last visit was twenty years ago when I survived having my rental car rammed into by a trolley. No hard feelings, though.

I would love to hear your advice on where to go for walks in Amsterdam! we are going to be there in october! I’ve been before, but only had a couple of days and sure haven’t seen enough… It’s probably my favourite place in europe and I absolutely can’t wait to come back!!

Hi Pia. My name is yuly and I write you from Madrid. Is since short I follow your blog and to tell you the truth is really nice the way you do. Your pictures are really inspire. About the last post and your suggestion to ask you the name of street I want to ask you for the bookshop which appear in one of your pictures. I run a book distributor project and I’m always catching beautiful and specialized bookshops to find the right place for the books I represent and haven’t been yet in Amsterdam for this purpose but I must go soon or later to take a look to bookshops. Thank you to share your favourite places. Is so lovely and kind. Have a nice day.

fabulous, i’m so glad you have all fallen in love with amsterdam as I have! I expect to see you all here soon then.
yuly, i think the name of the book shop is “&” – the ‘and’ symbol, and the name of the street it is on is called ‘staalstraat’. That’s as much info as I have right now but next time I walk past I will get a business card from them for you.Thank you for your lovely comment!
Yoli and Olga, I think I will put a little post together next with the names of these streets, so stay tuned! I was going to caption the shots but it ruined ‘the flow’ of the pictures and music.
xx
