So, here we all are. In le petit bateau. With me. Hmm. Has everyone got a drink? Is everyone comfortable? I suppose you just want me to get on with it, right?

Please click on the flower button below which is currently loading, to hear my first ever piano solo composition, accompanied by one of my little whimisical drawings. This piece is called Mes Ailes. Which is French for ‘My Wings’. I do hope you enjoy. Thank you in advance, for lending me your ears for the next 3 minutes…

Pia thank you for sharing your piano playing with us again. No drink was required for us listeners your playing was beautiful. I have listened to it several times while I am sitting here doing my work. But if a drink if what you would like how about a tall glass of milk for us both.

    Pia Darling,

Such a beautiful composition – I felt such a longing while listening to it, like a scene out of a movie….

I was imagining walking slowly down a residential street at dusk, with lighted windows along the street showing the people living inside – one of those movie moments where you suddenly realise the absolute humanity of the characters, whether good or bad….. do you know what I mean?

    I hope so – it’s a compliment, anyways…..

Thanks so much for your comment on my post about the irons…. did you know that when you leave a comment your email/blog addresses don’t show up as a link? I thought you’d be particular about that sort of thing…..

Thanks so much for sharing more of your divine piano playing – I hope you make this a regular thing!

Thank you Pia. Somehow music seems to come on my path again and again these days. My sweet little Miss A. who sings of her joys, sorrows and icecream. Me, finding my flute again under a thick layer of dust, discovering my fingers still know how to find all the tones and my breath changes into a song. Wonderful.

Dear Pia, I am in love with your composition. I’ve been listening to it over and over again. It reminds me of a bit of Yann Tiersen’s and Dustin O’Halloran’s compositions, while being completely different and unique on its own, if that makes sense. I especially love the part when the music seems to shift seamlessly to the slightly-jazzy section. Thank you for this wonderfully beautiful music. I would buy your album in a heartbeat! 🙂

hi pia. i’ve listened to my wings. i love the main theme – it reminds me of amélie, but it’s still very “you”. as you may remember, i’m a piano teacher, so i hear a lot of music – but it’s only the most personal stuff that stays with me. you’re obviously good at creating moods, because your themes fasten in my brain and keep playing there for hours after. it happened with the other piece (the one you dedicated to your great uncle ron), and it happened with this one. music to go!
