Yesterday I was walking along the street and I saw this beautiful dried, flat stem. It may have been run over, and it looks like its been walked over a few times too. I don’t know what it is about it, but I think it is so poetic.

It now lives on in my notebook.

How lovely. Sometimes forgotten or overlooked things are the most beautiful.

Ah, the things we find that the rest of the world has trampled by, are the items that seem to give us the most inspiration for art, and words and design.

I looks like it is holding its little arms up saying, “pick me up”.

pia, this is a lovely photograph. i see this growing in my area too, in new jersey. i think it might be poor man’s pepper, an edible plant.

Such a beautiful sentiment and photo. I think it could even apply to people sometimes. When we’re feeling run down and trampled over by the world, maybe within us, there’s a certain beauty to that vulnerability. Just maybe.

    I love it.
I always store little found treasures like this in special books.
They’re always such a treat to stumble upon when you revisit.
