It’s wonderful, isn’t it? My daughter is obsessed with red balloons and there are constantly a number of them around the house, deflating slowly, attached to toys or hiding behind doors and under tables.

I have actually been searching everywhere in Sydney for this film for months.
I’m desperate to see it but can’t find it anywhere!
There is a remake/ or a film that is inspired by it, with Juliet Binoche too.

Thank you thank you thank you!

I tried to tell my husband about this film – I remember it from when I was in daycare as a very young child (over 25 years ago!). I couldn’t remember much about it, just that there was a beautiful huge red balloon that had a mind of its own. I thought it might be Canadian (we have a great National Film Board here), but all my searching turned up nothing.

You have found it for me! Yay!!

    Hi Pia Jane,

I was googling for images of the red balloon to make a painting, and then I saw one of the pictures was yours!
    Hope you are well!

    Kind regards,
