tuesday’s finds…

Before I take you with me to my little snowy secret treat, today’s wander through the blogosphere took me far and wide, finding these three talented young things…

redthread.jpg

Josephine has just started a beautiful blog full of depth and style. She describes her blog as being named after the chinese legend that says that everyone is linked to others who have a significant impact on their lives via a red string. So this is her personal view of art+design, food+drink, books, fashion, and film connected by a red thread, or theme, each week. Her first week’s red thread is called ‘formative influences’ and she take us on a journey through a variety of influences from her life ranging from fashion designers, cooks, and favourite books. Beautifully written, well thought and very stylish. Awesome work Josephine!

Next up I followed the trail from a lovely recent comment, and it lead me straight to a stunning blog called Little Yellow Birds, filled with beautiful photographs as you see above, and also below…

Little Yellow Birds flickr collection is also full of inspiration. Thanks again for leaving a comment Jo and leading me to your beautiful work. I hope you are thinking about submitting something for My Heart Wanders.

And lastly, I would like to introduce you to the gorgeous photography of Sharon Vos. Her images say so much, go and take a wander through her portfolio

I have a serious case of the post-snow blues. To be more precise, the post – snow french wine food happy holiday people incredible mountainscapes wonderful accomodation – blues.

I have lots to tell you, and I will do so this evening when I gather some more of my shots for you – the image above is from within the chalet. I think you will love this place as much as I did. It was pure magic.

But oh how I missed you!! I’ve only had a chance to briefly visit some of you already this morning as I just couldn’t wait to see what you’ve been up to. I will be back in the (blog)house tonight, à bientot! xx

My Heart Wanders inspiration…

To round up the week of My Heart Wanders inspiration (and what a week of loving inspiration it’s been!), I snapped this photograph for you to help your ideas flow. The ‘wandering heart’ in the image is a ‘three of hearts’ playing card that I use as a bookmark. The vintage set of cards was given to me by someone very special – these cards were from his childhood some 60 or so years ago and as he was clearing away items from his attic (thankfully I was there at the time!), he thought I might like them. And yes I do. I use this particular card as a bookmark so that I am reminded of him and all the wonderful times associated with him.

I hope this inspires you to submit something for the book. Click here to read more about the project. I will be announcing the submission deadline next week. If you can, take some time to browse through the My Heart Wanders posts and all the inspiring links attached to the posts. In your submission don’t forget to include your heart in an interior/exterior setting – find a place that best shows off your little wandering heart.

All contact details and submission criteria are in the artist studio for you.

I’ve had alot of fun this week with you all, and now I am off for a little snowy secret break for the weekend – no internet 🙁 , no tv, no traffic. Hopefully I will have some beautiful photographs for show and tell.

Have a fabulous weekend everybody! I miss you already.

My Heart Wanders submission: “three of hearts”
Posted in my heart wanders February 14th, 2008 by piablog

From Corine at Hidden in France

“This photo was taken on the island of Kauai this summer and has three natural heart shapes I happen to come upon while my children where in the water and I was sitting in the shade on this beautiful beach. One is a piece of fallen tree bark, one is a piece of corral and the third is a stone.”

Thank you Corine, what a beautiful selection – it seems there are little tiny hearts wandering all over the globe, in all sorts of shapes and forms.

If you would like to submit something for the My Heart Wanders book project, click here to read more about it and for all the contact details.
