Letterpress from Naomie Ross on Vimeo.
The other day at a book event I was asked “what is letterpress?”. I described it the best way I could, but this morning I came across this fab video by talented graphic designer naomie ross visually explaining the process. It’s so lovely.
(found via graphic exchange which I found via the year I discovered sagmeister).
ooo I LOVE the little vid
(almost as much as I loooove my very big Chandler and Price clamshell letterpress….. I know its forward of me to add this – but this is the sweet story and pics of how my C&P came to live in my studio…. http://rhondaayliffe.blogspot.com/2008/07/chandler-price-letterpress.html)

I just wanted to say thanks for your exploration of the “giving credit” issue. It’s an issue dear to my heart (and wallet) as I’m a professional cartoonist who keeps a blog (http://blog.shelleyknollmiller.com/). I’ve had numerous incidents with my work being published without consent (or pay) including being confronted with a t-shirt with my cartoon on it!

Hi, I first read about your boatlife in Elle decoration, and it was beautiful! Really inspiring! I live in a studioflat 210 sq ft, and living in such a small apace, I find it easier to simplify my life. I couldnt find blogs with real studioapt life, so I decided to make my own blog, Ege Denne.

That is such a wonderful video.
My grandfather used to own a letterpress company and I remember a hall full of all those different typefaces in boxes. I guess they are all sold now, what a shame….
