sweet treasures #4: australia calling…
Posted in australia, interiors September 30th, 2010 by pia

I must say, there is really nothing quite like receiving a magazine as beautiful as this one once a month, delivered straight to my little boat door all the way on the other side of the world. No matter how much more sophisticated technology gets, and how much more interior inspiration there is popping up on the internet, printed visual stories are still so. much. better.

find country style here and here.

here here! I always get very excited when my ‘TOAST’ catalogue from the UK arrives here in France. Seeing the stuff on the internet is good – but curling up and holding it in my hands is so much better.

I love them all, but yes the print will always hold a special place in my heart and eyes! Can’t believe you live on a houseboat in Amsterdam-maybe I passed your house when I was there last? Love that city so much, you are lucky! LOVE YOUR WORK!

I’m agree with you. Paper is something kind of magic. You can smell it, for exemple, and that’s quite important.

Over the years I have devoured forests of journals and glossys but recently I have had a massive clearout and today prefer surfing for my style hits except for when I am in the bath, mag, candles and glass of wine at the ready! Bliss…

Found your blog through Jane at Yarnstorm and so enjoy it. I really miss all the magazines that I used to receive. It is so sad – because no matter what, the screen isn’t the same. Thank you for what you do.

Like you, I devour great reads, magazines from everywhere, books, blogs. All to nourish my need for knowledge, sustain my curiosity and entertain me!
And I agree, being from that generation, something printed in my hands will do best!

Oh I miss my Aussie mags so badly.
Real Living, Gourmet Traveller, Inside Out, Frankie and this one.
I much prefer reading real mags than online.
Taking the laptop in the bath with you is far too tricky 😉

Oh jealousy. I never considered getting any of my American rags delivered to me here in Paris. Now I wish I did. Then again, it gives me an extra thrill to go to WHSmith and browse the Anglo mags…

I found your blog through Dumbo Feather (which was a wonderful gift from my daughter). I dip into both Dumbo Feather and your beautiful blog with a joyful anticipation. I didn’t think the net could ever rival high quality magazines and books but I think you have given them a real run for their money. Keep up the great work, you never fail to give a real lift to my day. Your soundscapes are simply magic.
