Peonies are my favorite! I have a fat bunch of them on my desk at home, and they’ve been distracting me from a very rainy, gray week. I love all of these pics, but if I have to choose a favorite, I would pick the second from the top.

i’m partial to photo #2. both flowers capture the light so well, and their vessels are a good balance of simple and fancy.

they are my absolute favorite as well, and sometimes very hard to come by here in Austin, since it’s too warm to grow them well! i vote for the 2nd from top, as well: it’s nice to see the detail of those voluminous petals and the contrast of the 2 colors, shapes, and heights!

Oh, they are all so beautiful! I can’t pick just one. Peonies are one of my favourite flowers. I bet they smell pretty?

For our wedding, I collected lots of beautiful pieces to use for vases; ceramic milk bottles, teacups, bowls, etc and had them placed all along the middle of the table. They were filled with roses, lisianthus, and freesias. They looked beautiful, but they had the most beautiful scent. I have a picture, I think you will really love it Pia. http://swishandswanky.blogspot.com/2008/09/made-with-love.html

Gosh I have trouble choosing too – I think the post would have been the lesser for it if you didn’t share them all – the perfect single stem sucked me in and the images bloomed until that final one – my absolute fave – the way that little white vase looks a little transparent – that one’s a keeper. x Congrats again on the book- what an achievement!

They are really beautiful. We have Peonies in my garden. Seeing the first signs of them in the ground means spring had begun! It is such wonder to see them grow so fast.

Bugger! I was going to buy you celebratory peonies, but looks like you beat me to it! I can’t wait til they’re 10 for €5 so I can fill every vase I own with them.

Absolutely charming! There is nothing like a single peony blossom in a pretty vase to brighten the day. We have had nothing but rain in New York all week so this post put a smile on our faces. Thank you!

Yes three is meant to be the magic number, but it’s the similar pink in that gorgeous background, the pink of the vase, the pink reflected in the shelf and then of course that gorgeous pink peonie, that sends your eye on walkabout – my heaven for a peonie!
