tonight i will be dreaming about…
Posted in nature February 25th, 2009 by piablog

…living in a treehouse. again. I know, its as if living in un bateau isn’t interesting enough. But you know, it’s the ol’ grass is greener thing, right? I can just imagine lazing quietly about in such a place, reading a book while eavesdropping on the trees talking amongst themselves. the ultimate escape…

…………………………………………………………

the above beauties are from cherry coloured and country home magazine, who has even supplied a rather perfect menu for dining in a treehouse. pimm’s anyone?

…………………………………………………………

ooh i just realised that i wrote my first post about living in a treehouse exactly a year ago! how coincidental is that?! weird.

…………………………………………………………

actually that is really weird, non?

I have always dreamed of living on a houseboat so when I found your blog I thought I was in heaven… but I think I now have to add a tree house to my “dream list”. Thank you!

actually, oui. that is really weird! maybe it is something about THIS time of year, where winter and gray days are starting to drag a bit that your mind starts to wander to summer nights, greenery and being out in nature….so, i guess, maybe its not so weird! xo

hmm, there’s some sacred geometry at work here. what’s it trying to tell us? (i have that first photo of the forest dining room somewhere and was going to post these two pics together as well, but couldn’t find it. double weird!) somehow we’re connected by trees and the houses in them…

Wow! The pictures in this post make me feel nostalgic. They remind me of my aunt’s house in Thailand, sans the glass windows. My aunt doesn’t exactly live in a treehouse. Her house is built on stilts to protect it from the monsoon, but it is about as high as the treetops. I really loved the view.

Oh glory. What is that movie where they’re all living in a treehouse like city? Lord of the Rings – one of them? Was that it? Dark Crystal? Were there treehouses in that? Oh, I feel like I’ve been here. Maybe in my dreams. Very Folk of the Faraway Tree. I wanted to live in that tree.

Ohh, pia….treehouses steal my heart. I used to dream about tree houses in my childhood–blame it on those Disney family movies–and I would imagine all the things I would do inside the treehouse—host tea parties, read a book by the candlelight, sleep—and it would make me very happy. Coincidentally, I’m in a relationship with an American who had a treehouse in the backyard of the house he grew up in. He even built it himself (with help, of course)—so my plan is to coerce him into building me one soon. Wish me luck!

Thanks for this post. I’ve been dreaming about a little weekend house and a treehouse would be just about perfect. I followed all the links and found out that the company who built that second house is a local company! I’m going to have to go inquire . . . Your blog is lovely, by the way.
