a little tucked away treasure…
Posted in nature, paris, pia's photos January 9th, 2009 by piablog

It’s only a piece of baker’s twine but it just looked so pretty tied to this tiny branch, hidden from the world. I felt like I’d found a secret treasure in the heart of the Jardin Des Plantes… I imagined once upon a time it had a love note attached to it – wouldn’t that make your heart sing if you found it?

Good morning, Pia. My computer screen is set to your blog, and in the morning when I click onto the internet to check out emails from family and friends, the first thing I encounter is your beautiful photos and lovely writing. What a pleasure – no matter what the day brings, I’ve been given the lovely gift of a moment of beauty, sometimes quiet, sometimes whimsical but always a delight. Thank you.

That is so sweet…and the atmosphere is so dreamy. I love your photos.

You know, we have this custom in Romania, it’s called the Martisor (1st of March, marks the beginning of spring) when we give our loved ones little trinkets tied with red and white string. Technically, the custom says one should wear the red and white string tied to the wrist until trees are in bloom and then it shouldn’t be thrown away but tied to a blooming branch to bring good luck.

Just dreamy… I thought at first glance that you’d tied it there, Pia, to compose an more arresting photograph. How mysterious and magnificent to be the person to stumble upon such a thing in nature!

Funny, there is the same custom in Bulgaria, the difference is that it was associated with good health and big harvest – hence the tying on the trees. Very pretty photo. Thanks for introducing me to Poladroid. ๐Ÿ™‚
