Oh of course I mock! Next time I shall give you something more heartfelt. Today I’m bummed about the crappy Monday weather. Also, I can’t decide what to have for dinner.
xx

I don’t have a real excuse for you not learning dutch but I have a friend who lives in the german part of Switzerland and her excuse is that ‘I know I won’t stay here long’ but I often remind her that it’s been more than 5 years that she lives there 🙂
That must be funny having people pronouncing your name better than you, that must even be a bit weird !

J’adore toute les choses “PIA”, it is amazing to think how life changes, circumstances have you saying things like I live on a boat on the canal with a french boy…no sand to be found…
i am glad because i feel like i am reading a book called ” les aventure de pia” l’histoire d’une fille qui vie une vie pleine…

pia, you crack me up! if it helps, i know what you mean. when i was living in japan, people always thought i spoke japanese. however, while i was there, my spanish improved tremendously because i hung out with my japanese-argentinean aunt. ah well, it makes life more interesting, right?

I envy you so much. Amsterdam is the city where my heart lies and through the commitment of a very needy child and a partner with a job he adores I cant live the life I would want to..
That is why I visit your blog and love to hear of all the little dutch things you experience, and see photos of the shops, canals and houses.. Maybe one day I shall live where I feel truely at home.

Loved your reflection on “a year in Amsterdam…”
Your comment on the weather makes perfect sense to me.. I am Dutch, but a true gypsy at heart and have moved around the globe until I met my husband in Los Angeles.
Although Los Angeles is not where my heart lies, I admit that I love the weather…
It made me smile that you have some Indonesian blood in you… like many Dutchies, so do I.
Should you plan on coming to LA, drop me a line.
We can have koffie and I will make you fried rice.
All the best,
Dutch gypsy from LA
