well, i’ve certainly been slowed down, but not stopped. i’ve been pottering around the boat for the weekend – sorting, fixing, and playing – it’s been fun. I can’t play the piano, and I can’t walk so well, but I shall soon be back to my normal vibrant self, I promise!
Thank you everyone for your well wishes through all your emails and incredible comments – but saying thank you really doesn’t seem enough at all. Creating this blog has been one of the most inspiring, soul nurturing things I have ever done. You have all opened your arms to me and are like a wonderful, billowing silk safety net, catching me and throwing me back up into the air, allowing my wings to grow and find their strength.
I won’t get too soppy on you, but I just wanted to let you know.
So how about a song? What about one from the fresh, luscious voice of Sarah Aubrey. Click here to link to her myspace page, and listen to ’empty room’. It’s a little melancholy, it’s a little deep, and it’s a little raw. Just the way I like it. Of course I also love her references to water and paper boats. While you are visiting her, have a listen to ‘Ha ha hey’, it’s a goodie too. Thank you to my dear friend Jo Jo for introducing me to her.
And what will we get up to this week in the (blog)house? You’ll just have to wait and see! But I can tell you this: I will be starting the sorting of all your My Heart Wanders images this week, getting them ready for the judges. No doubt I will be very tempted to show you one or two from the collection…
à demain! xx
Hope you are feeling better, you must have been quite shaken by that! At least your boat is a beautiful space to rest up and heal.

Oh goodness. I missed your last posting but am glad to hear you’re on the mend. I was knocked off my bike when I was living in Hanoi and found the whole thing shook me more than it should have. Strange expat-y experience it was, compounded by the fact it’s such a normal thing my co-workers, all Vietnamese, were just not that sympathetic, I think I was being a little pathetic. I probably was. Needless to say a week later, my bike had been secreted away and fixed and new shoes had been bought for me to ride in (my shoes being decided upon as the reason I’d been mown down by a crazy Honda driver) and my Vina colleagues showed their love in funny ways. I still bear a scar – which my very dry deputy editor had said was a “free souvenir”. Ha Ha Ha.

Oh dear! I just read your earlier post. I hope you’ve fully recovered.
The photo of the apartment and the boat are just beautiful. I love the mood of both places.

Jeez, Pia…just read your last two posts…so sorry to hear about your bike accident! That must have been really scary. I hope you are recovering and are feeling a bit better. Take good care of yourself!

Glad to know your doing better 🙂 That boat is amazing, what a beautiful light!
You know what Pia ? This blog is the first one I check in the morning and the last one I check in the evening, I’m addicted (oh and I finally managed to put my blog in Technorati and blog catalog, it’s a good start, right ?)
Have a wonderful hot and sunny day, here since saturday the summer has been generous.

oh sofia, really? you are so sweet, knowing that has made my day! thank you. unfortunately the weather has not been so kind here – really windy, and all the chestnut tree depris is flying everywhere, i can’t have the windows open as it all comes flying into the boat. hopefully the weather will get better during the week, fingers crossed.
jill, thank you. yeah, it was pretty scary. but i am definitely healing, although it’s a slow process.
diana, thank you – yes, the mood is very similar in both shots huh, it’s funny that i don’t see a common thread in my style until i put shots like this together and realise those spaces are very me.
katie, what an awesome comment and a great story. i’m so glad to hear you recovered well but lucky you to have a free souvenir! ha! they do sound sweet though, fixing your bike and getting you a new pair of shoes. Yes the Dutch don’t seem so sympathetic either, since bike accidents happen all the time, plus they are known to be rather ‘cut and dry’ but having a dutch dad, i am fully prepared!
thanks kirtsy, yep, i am being looked after. i feel pretty blessed.
Annie, i’m so pleased! thank you!
Jeska, thank you and yep I’m still a bit shaken, how long does that last i wonder? the boat is like my little shell, its the perfect retreat in that way. actually it even looks like a shell with it’s wooden trim doesn’t it? funny.
thanks everyone, i’m glad you like this photo! i have been playing in here all weekend, i will try to show some more photos during the week.
xx
