Inside it, you will find a story on how to use this season&#8217;s fruits, produced by Dutch food stylist sensation &#038; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aan-de-amstel.nl\"target=\"_blank\">restaurateur<\/a>,  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yvettekookt.nl\"target=\"_blank\">Yvette Van Boven<\/a>, photographed by Jeroen Van Der Spek, and styled by me, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piajanebijkerk.com\/\"target=\"_blank\">Pia Jane Bijkerk<\/a>. Notice how nicely my last name fits in here &#8211; I feel like <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Three_Bears\"target=\"_blank\">goldilocks<\/a>, having found the porridge that suits her just right. Yes, as a part-Dutchie, I&#8217;m as proud as punch&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/2008\/09\/11\/speaking-of-glorious-food\/1686\/' rel='attachment wp-att-1686' title='maria1.jpg'><img src='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/maria1.jpg' alt='maria1.jpg' \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And do you remember me mentioning the other day how <a href=\"http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/2008\/08\/21\/look-who-is-in-the-kitchen\/\"target=\"_blank\">I am drawn to recipe writer&#8217;s<\/a> who are pastry chefs, like <a href=\"http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/kitchen\/\"target=\"_blank\">our (blog)house guest chef<\/a> Aran? Well <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yvettekookt.nl\"target=\"_blank\">Ms Yvette<\/a> is one of them too &#8211;  a pastry chef by trade, her culinary creations continue to inspire and amaze me every time we work together.  I will be telling you lots more about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yvettekookt.nl\"target=\"_blank\">Yvette<\/a> soon, but for now, these&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/2008\/09\/11\/speaking-of-glorious-food\/1687\/' rel='attachment wp-att-1687' title='maria_culi-03.jpg'><img src='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/maria_culi-03.jpg' alt='maria_culi-03.jpg' \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yep, that fig tart was to-die-for &#8211; I devoured that slice right after we shot it. And it was super fun filling the cupboard with all those jars. Don&#8217;t you love that cupboard? I will tell you where I got it from in a post to come &#8211; its my little shopping secret that I can&#8217;t wait to take you through on a personal, exclusive tour. But for now, these&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/2008\/09\/11\/speaking-of-glorious-food\/1693\/' rel='attachment wp-att-1693' title='maria22.jpg'><img src='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/maria22.jpg' alt='maria22.jpg' \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yvette baked all these different little shortbread-like twists, twirls and shapes to choose for the pear and vanilla marscapone recipe, and we selected this one you see, it just sat so beautifully with the pear that it seemed meant to be. <\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/2008\/09\/11\/speaking-of-glorious-food\/1689\/' rel='attachment wp-att-1689' title='maria_culi-04.jpg'><img src='http:\/\/archives.piajanebijkerk.com\/WordPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/09\/maria_culi-04.jpg' alt='maria_culi-04.jpg' \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had such a blast working on this story, and I look forward to showing you more of my work with Jeroen and Yvette in the future.
