…astound me. I found this yesterday afternoon, destined for the council clean up truck. It’s rather large and heavy, but there is something beautiful about it, non? I tried to fit it in the car but it wouldn’t squeeze in next to the baby seat, so I walked/dragged it home in the dark of night. I’m thinking it could go in Laly’s room. I’m still working on that room, it’s taking me a while, but that’s because I’ve been wanting to get to know my daughter to help create a room best suited to her sweet self. This perfectly imperfect floral addition seems fitting.
Score! And a gorgeous photo.
I love walking around the suburb at council clean up time. My 8 year old has taken to physically dragging me away.

That is so beautiful! I am always amazed by what people will throw away, it really is astounding. I love that you are waiting and watching for your daughters personality to shine through in order to create her space..x

I cannot believe you found this curbside, what luck – I think I would have walked right by this not being able to think off the cuff of what I would do with it – and usually I think about the perfect spot for found things a week later when it’s too late!

OK now…I keep telling myself I need to move from San Diego, CA. It is lovely here, but people don’t put treasures out on the curb!!! Everything here has to fit into either a recycle bin, a trash bin, or a plant products bin. I love seeing all of the amazing things folks create from found items. The only thing I have picked up lately is hubcaps. I saw how someone on FB painted them bright colors, put them on posts, and “planted” them in their garden. I will be doing that. thanks for sharing Pia. By-the-way, I love, love, love your books!

You know what they say Pia, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And what a treasure. I am sure Laly will love it.
