paper cuts & cardboard cut outs…
Posted in my heart wanders, personal, sydney April 15th, 2011 by pia

I’ve been surrounded by boxes for days, knee deep in cardboard and packing paper. I’ve begun wearing gloves while I open and unwrap each item as I’ve been getting some seriously nasty paper cuts. But still, I am inspired.

All this unwrapping and flattening boxes has given me some wonderful ideas for upcoming book launch events. Lots and lots of ideas. Also, I’m very glad that my beautiful oak table from Paris passed quarantine…

Phew!

Moving, moving, moving! Sounds exhausting! But I love finding inspiration in those unexpected ways. 🙂 I hope we are able to see what these ideas are sometime!

The things that quarantine check – we once had them inspecting our books – I hope they enjoyed reading them…

I’m sure they had a ball reading your books Miss Heliotrope! I’m glad they didn’t go for my books, because there were more than 20 boxes of them, it would have taken them half a year to read them all. 🙂

A Flourishing Perspective – of course! You know I always show + tell. As soon as I’ve developed my ideas, I’ll share them here.

If you are inspired by cardboard. Check out our Hutch Studio. We have been making frames, doll houses, a bunny hutch and even a costume out of cardboard. http://hutchstudio.blogspot.com/2011/03/cardboard-creations.html

Pia – how lovely! I hope you’re enjoying your move back home. Just a quick note of something I thought you might like. You’ve probably seen it before, but I’m currently completing the HSC and have taken a lot of inspiration from Swedish artist Nina Lindgren’s work – I think you should take a look: http://ninalindgren.blogspot.com/2009/05/blog-post.html – all made from recycled boxes. Hope you are well! x

Oh Pia, you even make moving look beautiful. I am so delighted your gorgeous table has arrived safely. I do adore it so. In all your photos it seems to have its own voice and it tells the prettiest tales.

So glad the table and everything else arrived safely. I had quite a few papercuts too – wish I’d thought about wearing gloves (but wouldn’t have been able to find them, anyway). Hope you and R are settling in and enjoying making the new place yours. Very excited to read your book soon! You’ll be happy to know I now have my temp residency permit sorted, along w/ permission to work. So now I’m semi-Dutch, at least. 🙂 Meanwhile, still wading through French bureaucracy to get my money back from the movers’ damages, breakage and loss of my belongings. xo
