so autumnal! boots, by amanda.
The weather has been sucky here, to say the least. Windy, rainy, and chilly – these are all the elements that keep me tucked up inside my cozy boat home, blanket over my lap, and cup of hot tea at the ready. But you know I have a wandering spirit, so thank goodness for the internet. While I’ve been working on the book (only one week of photo processing to go!), I’ve been taking little blog breaks, clicking on a recent comment or a blog in my blogroll and being whisked away to another world. Here are some of the things I’ve found…
Jen has an incredible photo project in the making which involves a natural history museum. Above are some little snippets of what she is making, I simply cannot wait to see more, click here to read her full post about it.

Today Lucy from The Design Files posted about the illustration work of monsieur qui. Now when I am in Paris I will know who makes some of the beautiful street art! Click here to see Lucy’s post.

Anna Spiro from Absolutely Beautiful Things lead me to the illustration portfolio of Samantha Hahn – stunning work, check it out here.

And Jen Laceda just left a comment on my previous post to let me know about an awesome giveaway she is hosting on her two blogs Les Filles Giada et Cairo, and Folie à Deux – you can win a Lubitel 166+ Universal Lomo medium-format film camera along with accessories, colour ring flash, Lomo book, a box of limited edition Agfa black and white film, and coloured films. Wow!!! I’ve already added my name to the draw, click here to learn how you can too. Thank you Jen!

Okay I have to get some work done now, but I will be back soon. Enjoy your Wednesday!

I love those boots, just waiting for being taken outside. To enjoy the rain and the wind on their face.
Rainy days can be so melancolic and so productive…i think it is depend on the hot coffee you take and tha amount of chocolate you taste.
Thanks for the links.

A lovely wander, Pia. I also loved those museum images by Jen. Can’t wait to see the full project. And that camera give-a-way is awesome. Wowza!

Your juxtaposition of images is so lovely, I always love that about your blog. I agree with Ibabe..those boots are to die for. Especially photographed the way they are.
Also think that twin lens camera is so cute! Will have to head over to Jen Laceda’s blogs.

So sorry all that i cannot share in the gloomy weather. I just walked on beautiful, sunny Coogee beach, here in Sydney. Its my early morning ritual now that the weather is getting warmer before i come back to the surrounds of my oh so glamorous (NOT!) garage and paint the day away.
I so love your blog Pia and have been following you for some time now, you have such lovely style, oh and i love your gorgeous book, i saw a copy at a gift store very close to my home a few days ago (hint hint to hubby, Chrissy pres). So thank you for all that you do.

Paris update: the weather is actually sunny today with that wonderful golden autmumn cast!
I must join in on our lucky beachcomber Leanne’s comment, Pia, the words are always just right and who else would show us a pair of sturdy walking boots, snakes-in-a-jar cabinet de curiosités, monsieur qui, etc, all in one swoop! Thank you every day…

oh judith – I hope the weather has improved! It’s pretty touch and go here – the moment I head out when it looks dry, it begins to rain. Thank you very much for your sweet comment, it means alot.
Leanne T – lovely coogee!! I’ll be there soon soon. Thank YOU. I’m so glad to hear you like the blog, and I really really hope you get the book for Christmas (here’s hoping hubby reads my blog!)
Grace – has it improved? It’s very good weather for reading stuff on the internet, I agree.
Haley Wulfman – thank you. Aren’t the books divine – Amanda’s one talented chick!
Danielle – totally…
Melissa – me too, I wonder what jen has up her sleeve. Whatever it is, I hope it’s something I can buy because I really would love to hold these sweet images in my hands.
Ibabe – you’re welcome. Yes, chocolate, it is essential on such rainy days. In the last few weeks I’ve unwrapped more green&blacks chocolate blocks than I care to admit.
