Well this is it guys, French Boy and I are heading back to ‘the mainland’. It’s a strange feeling to be leaving home for home, both being as sweet as each other. But departing from this land does always leave a tiny hole in my heart each time and somehow, it never gets easier.
Before I go though, I wanted to leave you with this little piece you see below. Yes, it’s a new medium for me on the blog because I just discovered that my G10 (you read right, I finally got myself a powershot! It’s so much lighter!) also takes video and I snapped this spontaneous piece a few hours ago just before dusk. This pretty much sums up what Sydney feels like for both a newcomer and an oldtimer. I do hope you enjoy, mes amis…
how delightful to see australia through the eyes of your petit ami – lovely music by the way.

What a sweet video! I love the reflections in the sunglasses. Oh, sunny summer sounds divine right now! And leaving home is never easy. No matter how old I get, leaving my parents’ home tears a bit of my heart every time, and I am not continents away, so I can only imagine how it tears yours to do the same. I hope you have a safe trip and find happiness when you arrive back at your other charming home! xx

This is so delicious and delightful! It’s always very hard to leave home, even when you have a lovely houseboat to come back to! So glad you both had a wonderful time.

thanks guys, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I was hesitant to be so bold as to post it but I got such a kick out of his spontaneous answers to my questions, just too funny and sweet I thought, with his lovely accent.
It’s been super hard coming home this time – I love the boat but I miss my aussie surroundings quite alot. I even miss the cicadas and dear I say it, waking up to the screeching cockatoos.
st – I like the G10 alot! I think it’s a great powershot since you can use manual settings or automatic if you are not camera savvy. go for it!!

Hi Pia,
I just got back home (in Buenos Aires) from home (in Lisbon) but this time at least I´m helped by the fact that it´s summer here.
I share your “hard-coming-back” feeling because I feel I belong in both places, I guess.
I hope you´re feeling better already!
