Pia, I’m afraid I may have to press legal charges against you. I’m not entirely certain of how it would play out but there must be some type of crime associated with stealing someone’s life!
Your blog is beautiful, inspiring, dreamy, and delicious. I feel like I’ve just been on vacation…swinging in a hammock, breeze adrift, french accordion playing softly in the background, deep cup of tea, and dreams of how to make the world a bit more beautiful…ahhhhhhhhh 🙂
I will most assuredly be back!
Happiest New Year!

Hello Pia,
just a short note to let you know I published a post about you a your book, Amsterdam Made by Hand, on my blog: Thisgirllel.com
We have a few things in common, I think, as I’m also an Aussie and have been living in Amsterdam for nearly 9 years (gulp!). And I’m an Art Director/Designer by trade. Currently at a place called Sid Lee, recently ex-Wieden+Kennedy, if you know anything about advertising 🙂
I was wondering if you’d like to meet up one autumny afternoon and chat about all the beautiful things you can find in Amsterdam and beyond? If so, just drop me a line.

Dear Pia,
I’m a casting producer for Granada Media in Sydney and we’re currently looking for high end designers, artists, creatives and decorators for a new design-based reality television show called TOP DESIGN. The show will go to air on Channel Nine and will be hosted by Jamie Durie.
In my research I came across your impressive blogsite and wanted to see if you would be interested (or know someone who could be interested) in applying for the show.
The format of the show is similar to ‘Project Runway’ but will focus on Interior Design/Decorating. Each episode will feature design & interior challenges and the winner of the series will receive a large cash prize and national recognition. We are looking for people across different creative industries of a high calibre and with a strong sense of aesthetics (which you obviously have from looking through your website) who would like to translate their style into design and interior challenges.
You can go to http://www.ninemsn.com.au/topdesign for more details and the application form which you can email through to topdesign2011@granadamedia.com.au along with a recent photograph and 3 x examples of your visual style.
Many thanks,

I received your book today and have read half of it already. Its inspiring… I have already ordered another to be sent to a friend who also has wanderlust..I feel inspired, I want to stop lingering in London (30years!!) and move somewhere else. I have talked about it for years but family life and creative contacts keep me here but you have made me believe I can take the step. I am only talking about moving west 100miles so what am I waiting for? Thanks Pia and good luck with your future work.

Hi Pia – I have just found your blog and then immediately went out and bought My Heart Wanders – it’s inspiring-it’s glorious – an assault on all the senses. Now I know what I am going to buy my girlfriends for Christmas. I gave up a career to live in Crete in the Nineties – THE best thing I have ever done – scary – but my gut instinct (which I had lost touch with living in Sydney – I think we all do) knew this was the right thing to do. Looking forward to devouring your blog posts. If we can’t be there ourselves then we can live vicariously thanks to people like you. Thank you. F

Hi Pia
I have just finished reading your book My heart wanders, I love it, the presentation, the photographs and the storytelling really touched me deeply. I myself have been a bit of a wanderer since my marriage break down, people would ask me what are you searching for as I moved from state to state, I didn’t know that I was searching for something I had this inner knowing that I needed to follow my heart. The journey wasn’t always easy, now looking back on the last 13 years I can say that I know myself a little better, sometimes I sit in the place of contentment, then the urge to move comes along, this time I have decided to stay with the urge and go within connecting deeply with my heart and encouraging my inner creator to design new artscapes from my life journey. As yet I haven’t managed to get anything together but like you I have a blog spot where I occationally these days add new stories. Thank you for your inspiration and good luck with the new baby, I look forward to following your blog as a new creative journey is about to begin for you.
Blessings

I just came upon something special. I first became aware of your work through the design files, Lucy’s blog. I was Typo in Melbourne about a month ago and a book jumped out at me, Markets in France, then today I got your email and went into your blog only to find out that you designed the front cover of this book. I love it, the cover and the book. Then I find out from your blog that this article was posted on 19th May, my beautiful mother’s birthday one year after she passed away. The world keeps getting smaller.

Hi Pia,
I came across your piece called “Should I post this image?” on another blog and was wondering (ironically?) about the permissions for that particular flowchart. Is it released under a creative commons license? If not, would you object to me using it at my school and with my students when discussing copyright, ownership and the use of images in self-publishing/blogging? Thank you so much and I await your reply!
