jim denevan in siberia…
Posted in artists, nature September 3rd, 2010 by pia

Last weekend I got lost in the world of Jim Denevan –  again –  but this time, in Siberia, via  The Anthropologist.  And although I was intrigued by the art, I became more intrigued by the journey and the landscape.  The stories told by each of the crew members is incredibly interesting, and learning about the pitfalls and the highs they experienced throughout the project was fascinating. The Anthropologist is an amazing website, and the way this special series of stories is put together is really special. Enjoy.

He is amazing and also organizes a movable feast called “Outstanding in the Field” where he hosts dinner in farms and vineyards for large groups. http://www.jimdenevan.com/food_index.htm

Stunning images, really reflect the empty vast spaces of Siberia. Apparently it’s the kind of place where one can really leave civilisation behind. I’d love to go, but for now will explore the website!

I rode the Trans-Siberian once, in the summer, and fell in love with the natural beauty of Siberia. It’s an extraordinary place.

I love this website too. I’m pretty keen on the Derek Henderson video. He is an astonishing photographer, and then the homage to two labradors. Well, I was on the floor on floods. Best thing Anthro have done. New entry came out last week.
