I’ve been carrying on about how good this homemade orange marmalade is on my facebook page (sorry to bring it up again, guys!) but I just can’t say it enough – this really is the most delicious marmalade I’ve ever tasted. It was a gift from a friend who brought it back with her from a recent trip to Southern Italy. It was made from the oranges on the property where she stayed.
I’m not usually a fan of marmalade, often finding it a little bitter for my tastebuds, but one mouthful of this and I was in heaven. Seriously, you can taste the sun in this sweet spread, it’s magic.
Today it is super sunny in Amsterdam and I am very eager to get out there to enjoy it but I really need to keep working in here. Seeing the sunshine pour through my windows is pure torture! But I have my edible sunshine, I must remain content and get on with my work.
Sigh.
Hi Pia, do you maybe have the name of the producers or the place? There´s a chance that I will be going to the South of Italy in autumn, and I would love to bring some edible sunshine back home to survive these dreadful dark Berlin winters… Greetings from Kreuzberg, here it´s snowing!

I need edible sunshine today. It’s raining buckets in San Francisco. Can you possibly take your work to an outdoor cafe with wifi? Just a thought. Seems a shame to miss the sunshine. 🙂

That looks heavenly! I love marmalade, the sweet and bitter combining in your mouth. Its very delicious if you but salted butter on the toast first, especially the butter made with sea salt from Bretagne. Yum!

Oh Pia, this looks like heaven!
Such a gorgeous photograph! I can almost taste the marmalade, and no, I’m not normally a big fan either but this just looks delish! x

I always think it looks better than it tastes. It’s the citrus peel for me. I’ve never been much of a fan. I don’t much like jam either. Maybe it’s too sweet. I have to cut the sweetness of marmalade with cheese or something savoury – an olive and fetta loaf or some such bread.
You have such willpower to stay inside when the sun is out. I am hoping for a sunny weekend to enjoy the garden. My first foray into the garden for autumn. Yah.

For all those interested in the recipe (I just wrote this on facebook):
The marmalade came from a friend of mine who visited a beautiful property in the south of italy. So, instead of finding you just any orange marmalade recipe, I’m trying the get the original, straight from the owners of the Italian villa. It’s not easy! They don’t have internet so word is spreading the old fashion way. I’ll let you know how I go!

Pia, love the photo and love the thought of you eating Aunty Hilda’s delicious looking marmalade in the boat in Amsterdam (even though you may feel alittle captive!)
