With the long weekend coming up, i thought i’d share a quick list of blog favourites with you! First of all don’t forget about the ‘in the spotlight’ section to the right – each week I spotlight 5 blogs that I am currently loving. Right now I’ve spotlighted:

dumbo feather’s editor kate wrote a great post about the ‘global financial crisis’. Her words are my sentiment exactly. I haven’t written anything about the crisis here on my blog because 1. i can get rather worked up about such topics and 2. I like the blog to remain “day enhancing”. And I think Kate’s post is totally “day enhancing”! So please read.

josyln has been very active in making positive changes in her family life, with thanks to the economic changes going on, have you noticed? along with her spending hiatus, she has a ‘new normal’ which is all about living larger lives. I’m not sure I have the right to be proud of her, but I am! I’m just so thrilled that people are taking the time to assess their lives – it’s what the world needs: a time of reflection. For some reason I started this reflection rather early in my life, so if you are worried about your own outcome of making such changes and aren’t sure if it’s the right thing to do, take me as an example and know that everything will be fine, and life will be large! I couldn’t be happier with all the decisions I made, as daunting as they were at the time because I was the only one ‘doing it’. I’ve raised a number of eyebrows throughout my life, put it that way. but my ethos to enhance the everyday was started long ago, and I wouldn’t have my life any other way.
Oh I have hope in humanity once more!

thanks pia! i love the quote, i think it’s so perfect right now. the flipside to this whole economy downturn thing has been being able to get back into the studio working on new things and it is kind of exciting.

Thank you for the example and encouragement to create an authentic life. Unfortunately for me this change has come late in my life and because of a serious illness. But it was the catalyst to drop everything in my life that did not support who I was. When my safety net and security disappeared (and the possibility of a shortened life), I took risks to create something new and exciting. I am now happier than ever, and my life is full of abundance (experiences, meaningful relationships, interesting people, travel, art, music). I am reminded by what Anais Nin once said, “Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”
Well, thanks again for being a wonderful example of a creative and free spirit!

thank you so much for your comment. I’m so sorry to hear your news but at the same time very happy to learn that you made these changes, even if it took an illness to be the catalyst. Serious health issues do tend to help us understand what is important in this life. I really like your Anais Nin quote.
