Suggestions for (earth) hour-long games to play in the dark are in the comments…
well without stating the obvious – although all variations on that game are always welcome! – i was thinking something to do with having a séance but last time I did that I was ten and spooked myself right out. What do you suggest?

I work in a pub in Australia, and we’re planning to do the no lights thing – we got a whole stack of candles together in anticipation!
My friends and I used to play a silly game where everyone gets a newspaper, and five minutes to make a hat and a whacking stick.
After the time is up, turn off the lights, and everyone goes crazy with their whacking sticks. After two minutes, whoever still has their hat on wins!

hyena in petticoats, that is hilarious! ooh i’d love to be in your pub on sat night, that would be so cool.
romain, nice one. so simple but how often do we all take the time to do that these days?
i was just riding home in the dark, in the rain, in the vondelpark and it was so very beautiful. all the ponds had a little mist over the surface, and the birds were chirping in the trees, and i could see through all the lit up windows of the fancy houses lining the park. It was so good, it was so nice, i am thinking I might even do that again tomorrow night at 8pm!

I’m with romain. I’ll lit some candles and listen to some music with my man and kids. See how it works for the little ones.

How I spent Earth Hour:
So we switched off all the lights, all the power points, rugged up and went for a wander… and then veered left and went into the local mexican for some sangria and nachos gigantes…
… is that cheating?!

Pia, I went for a long walk while my husband stayed home with the kids. They were asleep by that hour. It is humid down here in the Florida keys but the walk felt great. I could smell the ocean in the air. These lights out initiative is wonderful.

oh that is so cool! it seems candlelight was the way to go. The mexican restaurant did have a candle on our table so maybe that counts for something.
Sorry for the lack of post today, work got the better of me. But I do have some cool things up my sleeve for you!
