I often wonder what life was like for the people who lived in Paris a couple of centuries ago. Did they see the same things that I see today? Did they look down at the same cobblestones? Well, have a look at these to find out…

    so great – i have some pics of manhattan from the 20’s and 30’s when my granparents were young – should scan them and put them up! funny pia, but i was looking at them only a few days ago!

    aaaahhh, Paris. I lived in the 15th near Montparnasse when I was at universite, such a cool view from one century to yet another… makes me miss Paris, and even more, that time in my life… such nostalgia, such bonne homie…

    Incredible pictures. I love that the history is all under your feet and that buildings that are well-built will last hundreds of years. Now *that* is foresight. (now you just have to stop major facists from bombing you)

    I’d love to see a before and after of Dresden Germany. I hear the Frauenkirche is almost fully completed. It was really genocide what they did to Dresden.
